CVE-2022-48857

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The vulnerability is related to a use-after-free issue in the port100 send complete() function. The root cause is missing usb kill urb() calls on the error handling path of the ->probe function. This allows an attacker to potentially cause a denial of service. The port100 send complete() function accesses devm allocated memory that will be freed on probe failure. To prevent the reported use-after-free, the urbs should be killed before returning an error from the probe function.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
