CVE-2022-48838

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free bug in the Linux kernel's gadget core, which can cause a denial of service. The bug is due to a race condition between the gadget core and the driver core. The dev uevent() function checks if dev->driver is set and then dereferences it, but the gadget core sets dev->driver to NULL between the check and the dereference. This can be fixed by ensuring that udc->dev.driver is always NULL.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
