Description
The issue is related to insufficient validation of untrusted input in the Downloads component, allowing an attacker to bypass Downloads restrictions. This can be achieved by convincing a user to install a malicious extension via a crafted HTML page. The attacker can exploit this issue to impact data integrity.
Recommendations
For Google Chrome versions prior to 108.0.5359.71, update to version 108.0.5359.71 or later to resolve the issue.
For Microsoft Edge, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
