CVE-2022-48960

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the function hix5hd2 rx() in the Linux kernel, specifically in the module drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hix5hd2 gmac.c. It involves the potential reuse of previously freed memory, which could allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information. The vulnerability occurs because the skb is delivered to napi gro receive(), which may free it, and subsequent dereferencing of skb may trigger a use-after-free condition.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
