Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
JetBackup – WP Backup, Migrate & Restore plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including 1.4.1
Description
The issue allows authenticated attackers with minimal permissions to change the location of backups, potentially leading to the theft of sensitive information. This is due to a lack of proper capability checking on the
backup guard cloud dropbox, backup guard cloud gdrive, and backup guard cloud oneDrive functions.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including 1.4.1, consider disabling the
backup guard cloud dropbox, backup guard cloud gdrive, and backup guard cloud oneDrive functions until a patch is available to prevent unauthorized changes to backup locations. Restrict access to these functions to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Missing Authorization
