Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Better Search plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 2.5.2
Description
The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to import settings via forged requests, granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. This is made possible by a Cross-Site Request Forgery issue.
Recommendations
For versions up to and including 2.5.2, update to a version higher than 2.5.2 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the settings import functionality until a patch is available. Avoid performing actions that may be triggered by forged requests, such as clicking on links from untrusted sources, to minimize the risk of exploitation.
