Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WP Travel plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.4.6
Description
The issue is related to Cross-Site Request Forgery due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
save meta data() function. This allows unauthenticated attackers to save metadata for travel posts via a forged request if they can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For WP Travel plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.4.6, update to a version that includes the fix for the missing or incorrect nonce validation in the
save meta data() function.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the save meta data() function until a patch is available.Exploit
