CVE-2021-4394

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Locations plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.2.1
Description The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the saveCustomFields() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update custom field meta data via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.2.1, consider disabling the saveCustomFields() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to custom field meta data to minimize the risk of unauthorized updates.
