CVSS v3.1
8.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The Style Kits plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.8.0
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
update posts stylekit() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update style kits for posts via a forged request. This can be achieved if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.8.0, consider disabling the
update posts stylekit() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the Style Kits plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the Style Kits plugin until the issue is resolved.Fix
