CVE-2021-4404

CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Event Espresso 4 Decaf plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.10.11
Description The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the ajaxHandler() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to opt into notifications via a forged request. This can happen if an attacker can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.10.11, consider disabling the ajaxHandler() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the affected plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
