Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an os command, also known as 'os command injection'. This allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via crafted HTTP requests.
Recommendations
For Fortinet FortiExtender versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.3, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For Fortinet FortiExtender version 5.3.2, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For Fortinet FortiExtender versions 4.2.4 and below, update to a version above 4.2.4 to mitigate the risk.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to crafted HTTP requests until a patch is available.
