Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Sage XRT Business Exchange version 12.4.302
Description
Multiple XSS issues were discovered in Sage XRT Business Exchange that allow an attacker to execute JavaScript code in the context of other users' browsers. The attacker needs to be authenticated to reach the vulnerable features. Issues are present in the Filters and Display model features, where the name of a filter or a display model is interpreted as HTML and can embed JavaScript code, which is executed when displayed. Another issue is present in the Notification feature, where the name of an alert is interpreted as HTML and can embed JavaScript code, which is executed when displayed. Additionally, an issue is present in the File download feature, accessible via /OnlineBanking/cgi/isapi.dll/DOWNLOADFRS, where the contents of three form fields are embedded in the JavaScript code without prior sanitization.
Recommendations
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Filters and Display model features until a patch is available.
Restrict access to the Notification feature to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Avoid using the File download feature until the issue is resolved.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
