Description
The issue arises from the plugin's failure to sanitise and escape a parameter before using it in a SQL statement via an AJAX endpoint available to unauthenticated users, leading to an unauthenticated SQL injection.
Recommendations
For WP AutoComplete Search WordPress plugin versions 1.0.4 and earlier, update to a version that addresses this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the AJAX endpoint until a patch is available.
Avoid using the vulnerable parameter in the affected AJAX endpoint until the issue is resolved.
