CVE-2022-4700

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Royal Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.3.59
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the 'wpr activate required theme' AJAX action. This allows any authenticated user, including those with subscriber-level permissions, to activate the 'royal-elementor-kit' theme. If the theme is not installed, this can impact site availability as the site attempts to load a nonexistent theme.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.3.59, update to a version higher than 1.3.59 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'wpr activate required theme' AJAX action to prevent unauthorized theme activation. Additionally, ensure that the 'royal-elementor-kit' theme is properly installed and configured to avoid site availability issues.
