CVSS v2.0
9.0
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FortiWAN versions 4.0.0 through 4.5.9
Description
The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an OS command, which may allow an authenticated attacker to execute unauthorized commands via specifically crafted arguments to existing commands. This could potentially enable a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands.
Recommendations
For FortiWAN versions 4.0.0 through 4.5.9, consider restricting access to the management interface to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using specially crafted arguments to existing commands in the management interface. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
