| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
AdSanity plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.8.1
Description
The issue is related to missing file type validation in the
ajax upload function, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor+ level privileges to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server. This enables remote code execution.Recommendations
For AdSanity plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.8.1, update to a version higher than 1.8.1 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
ajax upload function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the ajax upload function to minimize the risk of exploitation.Exploit
