CVSS v3.1
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WP Meta SEO plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.5.3
Description
The issue is related to Cross-Site Request Forgery due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
setIgnore function. This allows unauthenticated attackers to update plugin options via a forged request if they can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 4.5.3, update to a version later than 4.5.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
setIgnore function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the plugin's options to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the plugin until the issue is resolved.Fix
