CVSS v2.0

9.0

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FortiWeb versions 6.3.6 through 6.3.20 FortiWeb versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.2 FortiWeb 6.4 all versions
Description The issue is related to an improper neutralization of special elements used in an os command, also known as 'os command injection'. This allows an attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via specifically crafted HTTP requests. The exploitation of this issue may enable a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands by sending specially crafted HTTP requests.
Recommendations For FortiWeb versions 6.3.6 through 6.3.20, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk. For FortiWeb versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.2, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk. For FortiWeb 6.4 all versions, consider disabling the vulnerable functionality related to os command execution until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the affected HTTP endpoints to minimize the risk of exploitation.
