Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The WH Testimonials plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.0.0
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerable parameters include
wh homepage, wh text short, and wh text full.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 3.0.0, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the parameters
wh homepage, wh text short, and wh text full to minimize the risk of exploitation.Exploit
