Description
The issue is related to the improper neutralization of formula elements in a CSV file, which can be exploited by a local attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands. This is achieved by inserting spreadsheet formulas in macro names within the CSV file.
Recommendations
For Fortinet FortiAnalyzer versions 6.4.0 through 6.4.9, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For Fortinet FortiAnalyzer versions 7.0.0 through 7.0.5, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
For Fortinet FortiAnalyzer versions 7.2.0 through 7.2.1, update to a version outside of this range to mitigate the risk.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the insertion of spreadsheet formulas in macro names within CSV files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
