CVE-2023-2031

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Locatoraid Store Locator plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.9.14
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's shortcode(s) due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user supplied attributes, such as attributes provided by users. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. The injected scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 3.9.14, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue to prevent the injection of arbitrary web scripts. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the plugin's shortcode(s) to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, limit contributor-level and above permissions to trusted users only.
