CVE-2023-2083

CVSS v3.1

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Essential Blocks plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.0.6
Description The issue arises from a missing capability check on the save function, allowing unauthorized use of functionality. This enables subscriber-level attackers to save plugin settings. Although a nonce check is present, it can be bypassed by not providing a nonce, which results in the nonce verification being skipped.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.0.6, update to a version that includes a capability check on the save function to prevent unauthorized access. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the save function until a patch is available.
