Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Android versions Android-13
Description
The issue is related to a possible bypass of user-specified wifi encryption protocol due to improperly used crypto in the
parseSecurityParamsFromXml function of XmlUtil.java. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Recommendations
For Android version Android-13, consider disabling the
parseSecurityParamsFromXml function in XmlUtil.java as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to wifi encryption protocol settings to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
