CVE-2023-2201

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Web Directory Free for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.6.7
Description The issue allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level privileges to extract sensitive information from the database due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied post id parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This enables attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 1.6.7, update to a version that includes proper escaping and preparation for SQL queries to prevent SQL injection attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the post id parameter in the affected API endpoint until a patch is available.
