CVE-2023-2305

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Download Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.2.70
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the 'wpdm members', 'wpdm login form', 'wpdm reg form' shortcodes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages, which will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For Download Manager plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 3.2.70, update to a version higher than 3.2.70 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'wpdm members', 'wpdm login form', 'wpdm reg form' shortcodes for users with contributor-level and above permissions until a patch is available.
