| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Caton Live versions up to 2023-04-26
Description
A critical issue affects the Mini HTTPD component, specifically the /cgi-bin/ping.cgi file. The manipulation of the
address argument with the input ;id;uname${IFS}-a leads to command injection. This can be initiated remotely. The vendor was contacted about this disclosure but did not respond.Recommendations
For Caton Live versions up to 2023-04-26, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the /cgi-bin/ping.cgi file until a patch is available. Avoid using the
address argument in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Command Injection
