Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
OpenCATS version 0.9.7
Description
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary web scripts or HTML via a crafted payload injected into the
city parameter at "opencats/index.php?m=candidates". This enables attackers to potentially manipulate the web application's behavior.Recommendations
For OpenCATS version 0.9.7, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "opencats/index.php?m=candidates" endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
city parameter in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
