| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Jenkins Visual Studio Code Metrics Plugin versions 1.7 and earlier
Description
The issue is related to the XML parser not being configured to prevent XML external entity (XXE) attacks. This allows attackers who can control VS Code Metrics File contents to have Jenkins parse a crafted XML document, potentially leading to the extraction of secrets from the Jenkins controller or server-side request forgery.
Recommendations
For Jenkins Visual Studio Code Metrics Plugin versions 1.7 and earlier, consider disabling the XML parser or restricting its use until a patch is available to prevent XXE attacks. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the VS Code Metrics File to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
