CVE-2023-23524

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.2.1 iOS versions prior to 16.3.1 iPadOS versions prior to 16.3.1 tvOS versions prior to 16.3.2 watchOS versions prior to 9.3.1
Description A denial-of-service issue was addressed with improved input validation. Processing a maliciously crafted certificate may lead to a denial-of-service. The issue is related to uncontrolled resource consumption when processing certificates, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial-of-service.
Recommendations For macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.2.1, update to macOS Ventura 13.2.1. For iOS versions prior to 16.3.1, update to iOS 16.3.1. For iPadOS versions prior to 16.3.1, update to iPadOS 16.3.1. For tvOS versions prior to 16.3.2, update to tvOS 16.3.2. For watchOS versions prior to 9.3.1, update to watchOS 9.3.1. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of certificates to minimize the risk of exploitation.
