| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SMTP Mail plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.2.16
Description
The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via an email subject due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping when the 'Save Data SendMail' feature is enabled. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.2.16, update to a version that addresses the insufficient input sanitization and output escaping issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the 'Save Data SendMail' feature until a patch is available.
Fix
