CVE-2023-21963

CVSS v2.0

3.3

Low

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:M/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.40 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.31 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Server: Connection Handling component of MySQL Server, allowing a remote attacker to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of MySQL Server. The vulnerability can be exploited by a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.40 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.40. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.31 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.31. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
