CVE-2023-21912

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.41 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.30 and prior
Description The issue allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server, resulting in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server. This is due to insufficient input validation in the Server: Security: Privileges component.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.41 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.41. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.30 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.30. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
