Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
quartz-jobs versions 2.3.2 and below
Description
The issue is related to a code injection vulnerability in the component
org.quartz.jobs.ee.jms.SendQueueMessageJob.execute. This vulnerability is exploited via passing an unchecked argument to the execute method. It is noted that this vulnerability is disputed by multiple parties because it is not plausible that untrusted user input would reach the code location where injection must occur.Recommendations
For versions 2.3.2 and below, consider restricting access to the
org.quartz.jobs.ee.jms.SendQueueMessageJob.execute component to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider validating and sanitizing any arguments passed to the execute method until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
