Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel version 6.2
Description
An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel, specifically in the drivers/media/test-drivers/vidtv/vidtv bridge.c file. The problem is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the
vidtv mux stop thread function. This occurs when dvb->mux is set to NULL, and then the vidtv mux stop thread(dvb->mux) function is executed. The exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For Linux kernel version 6.2, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
vidtv mux stop thread function until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
