Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write in the sslvpnd service of FortiOS and FortiProxy, allowing an authenticated attacker to execute unauthorized code or commands via specifically crafted requests. This may enable arbitrary code execution.
Recommendations
For FortiOS versions 6.0 through 7.2.3, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For FortiProxy versions 1.0 through 7.2.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the sslvpnd service to minimize the risk of exploitation.
