Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PHPJabbers Make an Offer Widget version 1.0
Description
The issue occurs during password recovery, where a difference in messages could allow an attacker to determine if the user is valid or not, enabling a brute force attack with valid users. This is related to user enumeration.
Recommendations
For PHPJabbers Make an Offer Widget version 1.0, consider modifying the password recovery process to return generic messages for all users, regardless of their validity, to prevent user enumeration. As a temporary workaround, consider implementing rate limiting on password recovery attempts to minimize the risk of brute force attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
