CVE-2023-4386

CVSS v3.1

8.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Essential Blocks plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 4.2.0
Description The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object via deserialization of untrusted input in the get posts function. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. No POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 4.2.0, update to a version that fixes the PHP Object Injection issue to prevent unauthenticated attackers from injecting PHP Objects. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the get posts function until a patch is available.

Fix
