CVE-2023-4795

CVSS v3.1

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Testimonial Slider Shortcode WordPress plugin versions prior to 1.1.9
Description The issue concerns the Testimonial Slider Shortcode WordPress plugin, where it fails to validate and escape some of its shortcode attributes before outputting them back in the page. This could allow users with a role as low as contributor to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks, which could be used against high privilege users such as admin.
Recommendations For versions prior to 1.1.9, update to version 1.1.9 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the vulnerable shortcode attributes to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using unvalidated and unescaped shortcode attributes in the affected plugin until the issue is resolved.
