CVE-2023-4887

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions The Google Maps Plugin by Intergeo for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.3.2
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the intergeo shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level and above permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.3.2, consider disabling the intergeo shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to pages that use the intergeo shortcode to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script execution. Avoid using user-supplied attributes in the intergeo shortcode until the issue is resolved.
