CVE-2023-5434

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Superb slideshow gallery plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 13.1
Description The issue arises from insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query in the plugin's shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level and above permissions to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries, which can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 13.1, update to a version that addresses the SQL Injection issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the shortcode feature until a patch is available.
