Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition, and Oracle GraalVM for JDK products. This vulnerability can be exploited by an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols, allowing them to compromise the affected systems. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some accessible data. The vulnerability can be exploited using APIs in the specified component, for example, through a web service that supplies data to the APIs. It also applies to Java deployments that load and run untrusted code and rely on the Java sandbox for security.
Recommendations
For Oracle Java SE versions 8u371, 8u371-perf, 11.0.19, 17.0.7, 20.0.1: Update to a fixed version or apply the recommended patch.
For Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition versions 20.3.10, 21.3.6, 22.3.2: Update to a fixed version or apply the recommended patch.
For Oracle GraalVM for JDK versions 17.0.7, 20.0.1: Update to a fixed version or apply the recommended patch.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable APIs or disabling the use of untrusted code in Java deployments until a patch is available.
