CVE-2023-37204

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:C/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 115
Description The issue is related to the lack of warnings about dangerous actions when loading pop-up windows for downloadable files in full-screen mode. This could lead to user confusion and possible spoofing attacks, where a remote attacker might exploit the vulnerability. A website could obscure the full-screen notification by using an option element and introducing lag via an expensive computational function.
Recommendations For versions prior to 115, update to version 115 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of full-screen notifications for downloadable files until a patch is available. Restrict access to websites that may exploit this issue to minimize the risk of spoofing attacks.
