CVE-2023-3482

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 115
Description The issue is related to errors in authorization, allowing a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information. When Firefox is configured to block storage of all cookies, it was still possible to store data in localstorage by using an iframe with a source of 'about:blank'. This could have led to malicious websites storing tracking data without permission.
Recommendations For versions prior to 115, update to version 115 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to localstorage when cookies are blocked to minimize the risk of exploitation.
