| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Tenda AC8 versions prior to V16.03.34.06
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the
fromSetWifiGusetBasic function of the Tenda AC8 router's firmware. This could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability is specifically tied to the shareSpeed parameter.Recommendations
For versions prior to V16.03.34.06, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
fromSetWifiGusetBasic function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable function to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the shareSpeed parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
