CVE-2023-33671

CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Tenda AC8 versions prior to V16.03.34.06
Description The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the saveParentControlInfo() function when handling the deviceId parameter. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service by sending a specially crafted POST request to the '/api/v1/saveParentControlInfo' endpoint.
Recommendations For Tenda AC8 versions prior to V16.03.34.06, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the saveParentControlInfo() function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the deviceId parameter in the affected API endpoint to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
