Triangle MicroWorks SCADA Data Gateway (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to incorrect restriction of a directory path with limited access. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of root. The vulnerability exists within the creation of event logs due to the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of root.
