| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Google Chrome versions prior to 116.0.5845.96
Description
The issue is related to insufficient policy enforcement in the Extensions API of Google Chrome, allowing a remote attacker to bypass existing security restrictions. This can be achieved by convincing a user to install a malicious extension, which can then use a crafted HTML page to bypass an enterprise policy.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 116.0.5845.96, update to version 116.0.5845.96 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, avoid using crafted HTML pages that could be used to bypass enterprise policies until the issue is resolved.
