CVE-2023-4367

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:C/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 116.0.5845.96
Description The issue is related to insufficient policy enforcement in the Extensions API of Google Chrome, allowing a remote attacker to install arbitrary extensions using a specially crafted HTML page. This could enable an attacker to bypass an enterprise policy if a user is convinced to install a malicious extension.
Recommendations For versions prior to 116.0.5845.96, update to version 116.0.5845.96 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the installation of extensions to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using crafted HTML pages that could bypass enterprise policies until the issue is resolved.
