Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PHOENIX CONTACT WP 6xxx series web panels versions prior to 4.0.10
Description
The issue is related to the use of hardcoded credentials in PHOENIX CONTACT WP 6xxx series web panels. An authenticated, remote attacker with admin privileges can read hardcoded cryptographic keys, allowing them to decrypt an encrypted web application login password. Recommendations
For versions prior to 4.0.10, update to version 4.0.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the web panels to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, limit the use of admin privileges to only necessary users to reduce the potential impact of the vulnerability.
Fix
