Description
The issue is related to a software vulnerability in the PHOENIX CONTACT WP 6xxx series web panels, which are used for management and monitoring in industrial systems. This vulnerability is associated with weaknesses in the authorization procedure. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to obtain unauthorized access to protected information, specifically the r/w community string of the SNMPv2 daemon.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 4.0.10, update to version 4.0.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SNMPv2 daemon to minimize the risk of exploitation.
